FAQs

Welcome to our practice.

Below you will find answers to common questions about our rheumatology clinic and services.

  • Helix Health Rheumatology is a direct care (direct pay) practice, meaning we focus on providing unhurried, personalized care without the administrative burden of insurance. We do not accept insurance for visits. This model allows us to spend more time with you, provide comprehensive evaluations, develop individualized care plans, and focus on long-term health rather than rushing appointments to meet requirements.

  • We provide care for a wide range of autoimmune and inflammatory conditions, including:

    • Rheumatoid Arthritis

    • Psoriatic Arthritis

    • Lupus (Systemic Lupus Erythematosus)

    • Ankylosing Spondylitis

    • Sjogren’s Syndrome

    • Gout / Pseudogout

    • Inflammatory Myopathies (Dermatomyositis, Polymyositis)

    • Undifferentiated or Mixed Connective Tissue Disease

    • Inflammatory Bowel Disease (Crohn’s / Ulcerative Colitis) related arthritis

    • Vasculitis

    • Scleroderma

    • Polymyalgia Rheumatica

    • Sarcoidosis

    • Osteoporosis

At this time, we do not provide treatment for chronic pain syndromes or fibromyalgia, but we can evaluate for other underlying causes such as inflammatory arthritis or autoimmune conditions to ensure you receive an accurate diagnosis and appropriate care.

  • We do not prescribe opioids or other controlled substances. If needed, we can help connect you with a pain specialist to manage your care safely.

  • Helix Health Rheumatology is considered an out-of-network provider and does not submit claims or Superbills to insurance on your behalf. You may have an out-of-network benefit that allows you to see any healthcare professional, pay directly at the time of service, and potentially be partially reimbursed by your insurance provider. We can provide a receipt for services so that you have documentation to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.

  • We are glad to welcome patients with Medicare, however, Medicare does not cover services received out-of-network in a direct pay practice like ours. As a result, patients are responsible for the full cost of their care. You may still use Medicare for any covered services such as labs, imaging, or outside referrals if applicable.

Scheduling & Visits

  • You can schedule your initial consultation by using the Contact Us form on our website, or by calling or texting our office directly.

  • A referral is helpful but not required. We kindly request that you send us any relevant laboratory results, imaging studies, and your most recent office visit note from your physician prior to your appointment.

This information allows Dr. Sabet to review your history in advance and dedicate more time during your visit to discussing your concerns and developing an effective plan.

All initial consultations and non-member follow-up visits require a $50 nonrefundable deposit at the time of scheduling. This deposit will be applied toward the cost of your visit.

We do not accept walk-in appointments; visits are by scheduled appointment only.

  • Yes, telehealth visits are available only for patients located in Texas.
